I am looking to redesign this site once more, to freshen it up.

However, I would like input from as many people as possible on what sort of colour scheme you guys would like, after all this site is for all of us in woskf. Even if you have other ideas, for example: how the navigation looks/works, banner options, fonts used, silver colour scheme, black colour scheme, minimalistic look, etc.
Are there any sites you like the look of that you would like to try and have this site recreate then please let me know.

I am also looking to get images from you guys so that I can have a bank of images to make the site more interesting and as fresh as possible. These images can be from practice to competitions, what ever you feel would be good for the site would be helpful.

Kirkintilloch is a a club that hardly gets any exposure here, and I would like to change that. So if any students at the kirky club would like to be an author of these pages, so that information can be published about the club to keep their students up to date, then please let Andy know so that I can create an account for those students.

I need your support on this & I hope that everyone has some input on what they would like to see as their site.

To have your say, you can either email me direct at davy@woskf.co.uk or you can leave a comment for this post below.

The main reason for this is that wordpress has sent out an update, and I would like to change a few of the codes, and it would be a lot easier if I had a fresh install of wordpress.
So please give me some feedback…

Thank you

Deklyn Bain who trains at the Dumbarton club recently succeeded in gaining his black belt in Kickboxing, this makes him WOSKF’s first junior black belt. Deklyn has always shown a natural ability in martial arts but it is his enthusiasm and determination which has seen him progress through the grades. Deklyn has a great attitude towards training and has great discipline. He also has a song for every occasion the only complaint I have about this is I wish he would get better taste in music as I end up singing it for the rest of the week!! Deklyn’s ability and determination has not gone unnoticed and head instructor Andy McCracken has invited Deklyn to train in the adult Kung Fu class.

Well done on this great achievement Deklyn!!!

From,

Amy, all the little panthers and everyone at kung fu X

I have fixed a problem that Internet Explorer 6 & 7 were having for the main site, please bear with me for wordpress, I will need more time to iron out some other issues with IE6 & 7.

The site won’t look as good as other good browsers, but it will serve the purpose and let everyone see the navigation bar at the side.

If anyone is still having problems viewing the sidebar of the site, please delete your Cache/Temporary Internet files, web history and re-boot your browser.  This should force any old cached versions of a file that I was using to disapear from your computer and be replaced with a fresh copy of the style sheet.

Edit: mainly all fixed for all parts of site for IE 6 & 7 (still not 100% perfect), but not dedicating too much time on non standard implementation of standard code. For a better & richer internet experience please go to our links page and click for a free browser.

The site has been updated and has also been moved to its own server, woo hoo.

This means that we could add extra stuff to the site, namely wordpress. This blogging tool will help us give up to date information relating to both clubs (Dumbarton & Kirkintilloch). Also this will enable Andy & some other authors (not specified yet) to update information on such things as squad training, gradings, competitions, etc.

I hope that this blogging tool will be well used both by authors & readers. Comments will be allowed but spam & flaming will not be tolerated. Any such comments will mean comments deleted and maybe a loss of your log in details, oh sorry but to stop randoms, if you want to comment you must register and be logged in.

I have tested the new site thoroughly & it works very well in most modern browsers, namely Firefox, Safari, Opera, Chrome & IE8, the blog may not work/look correct for IE6, but to be honest, it is a bad browser that Microsft is not supporting, so I believe that I should not support a product that the manufacturer does not want to support. If you have IE6, you can get a better browser, search for Firefox, or go to our links page, we link to it there.

The main site has been designed with IE6 in mind, but not as good as the other browsers.

Anyway, that is all from me and I hope you enjoy the new site.
