When and where do you practice your Kung fu?
We practice at the Meadow Sports Centre, Dumbarton.
We also practice in Kirkintilloch Scout Hall.

How old do I have to be to do Kung Fu?
We have a wide selection of ages at our clubs. We have kids, teenagers and adults attending our clubs.

Do I have to be fit to do Kung Fu?
Some people are fitter than others but everyone has a base level of fitness which we will help you improve upon.
The classes are designed to help individuals become more stronger, improve their flexibility & general fitness. You may also find that you will lose weight, improve your shape and be generally healthier, through practising martial arts.
Is martial arts only for guys?
No definitely not. We have a fair mix in both club clubs, some of which can hold their own in competition fighting.
Does your Kung Fu have a grading system and if so, how does it work?
Yes, we have a grading system. The grades go, in order, from White, Blue, Orange, Green, Yellow, Purple, Brown & Black.
These sashes are an indication of how your skill is developing as you advance through the various techniques and sets, you are awarded a sash. Its colour representing a level of which you have obtained through vigorous training.

Do you have to be flexible to do Kung Fu?
Basically, no. You don't have to be flexible to start out in martial arts, because you will gain flexibility the longer you practice.
What is the Style of your Kung Fu?
Our Kung Fu is called Lan Jung Kuen, which means South China Fist. Our Kung Fu is based on a style called Hung Gar. All martial arts have a style, some styles are based on others, for example, Bruce Lee's Jeet Kune Do is based on some styles of martial arts, namely Kung Fu, Karate, and Boxing.
Kung Fu is a general term which covers many Chinese fighting styles, for example you can have Shaolin, Mok Gar, Lau Gar, Wing Chun, etc, all of these styles can be classed as kung fu, but they all differ in some way.
